Certified Legal Intern Program

Ave Maria School of Law offers a Certified Legal Intern ("CLI") Program. CLIs work for a State Attorney’s Office, a Public Defender Office, or another government agency. Under the supervision of an attorney, students are typically responsible for their own caseload and appear before courts and/or administrative bodies to advocate on behalf of their clients. In addition to their field placement, students attend seminars that complement the fieldwork and emphasize ethics and professional responsibility.

Certified Legal Intern opportunities are available in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
