Ita M. Neymotin is the Regional Conflict Counsel for the Second District Court of Appeal. She was nominated by the Supreme Court of Florida Judicial Nominating Committee, appointed by Governor Rick Scott and confirmed by the Florida Senate to the position of Regional Conflict Counsel. Regional Conflict Counsel defends indigent clients in criminal cases once the Public Defender conflicts off and Regional Conflict Counsel is first in line to defend indigent clients in dependency cases. Ms. Neymotin is a strong legal advocate for the indigent people of the State of Florida. Currently, she leads and is responsible for over 100 attorneys and staff, the administration and budget management of the 14 counties area of the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel Second District Court of Appeal. Ms. Neymotin graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School and went on to receive her LLM in Business Law from Capital University Law School as well. Further, she worked as an Assistant State Attorney, an Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant Regional Counsel prior to being appointed as Regional Conflict Counsel. Ms. Neymotin’s professional memberships include the Florida State Bar, Florida Supreme Court of the United States, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the New Jersey State Bar, and the New Jersey Federal Bar. Ms. Neymotin is a death penalty qualified attorney and she has helped to defend clients who were facing the death penalty.
